The Sharp privacy policy

What The Sharp is
The Sharp is a free play-money picks game published by The Southern Line. It has a web version and a Chrome side-panel extension. No real money is ever deposited, wagered or paid out.
What we store
- A random player code created on your device the first time you play. It is not linked to your name, email or any account. It is the only identifier we use.
- The name you type at onboarding, your play-money bankroll, your picks and their results, and the messages you exchange with the game’s four characters.
That data is stored on our server so your bankroll follows your player code to any browser. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers. Character replies are generated by an AI model provider that receives your message and your pick history for that reply only.
What the Chrome extension reads
On the sites it supports (listed in the extension’s manifest), the side panel reads the page’s address, title and visible text so it can highlight the game you are looking at. That text is matched on your device and is not sent to our server. The extension changes nothing on those pages beyond adding its own open button. It does not read any other site.
Cookies and browser storage
The game keeps your player code and preferences in your browser’s local storage. The extension keeps them in Chrome’s extension storage. There are no advertising cookies or trackers.
Deleting your data
Choose “Forget this player” in the extension settings to sign out of that browser. To erase everything held under your player code, email the address on the About page with the code and we will delete the record.
Age
The Sharp is for adults 21 and over, in keeping with the markets it mirrors.
